I'm Jo and Mini Lingos is my baby, born out of a passion for making language learning fun and engaging for little ones.
After studying European Business and Spanish at university I went travelling through Central and South America, immersing myself in different cultures and beautiful places before living in Barcelona teaching English in a Primary School.
My love of Spain and all things Spanish is what led me to eventually pursue a career in teaching, specialising in Spanish and Business Studies at Secondary school level.
But after several years in the classroom, I felt a calling for something more.
When my first son was born, I wanted to share my love for Spanish with him. Disappointed by the lack of language-based classes for young children in my area, I decided to take matters into my own hands and set up local weekly parent and baby/toddler community classes.
Those classes quickly gained popularity – and when I introduced them to my eldest son’s nursery, the response was overwhelming. Both staff and children loved them!
Today, I’m on a mission to spread the benefits of our classes to nurseries and pre-schools right across the UK through franchising.
My goal for Mini Lingos is to inspire a love of learning Spanish in every child we teach, and to ensure that all our classes, regardless of teacher, are warm, welcoming and FUN!
